INTRODUCTION

Sarada Educational Society, Vijayawada is registered under the Societies Registration Act as a Society No. 68 of 1974. It has sponsored the SARADA JUNIOR COLLEGE, SARADA DEGREE COOLEGE ( P.G courses ) under its benevolent management with the sole motto “SEELENA SHOBATA VIDYA”. The society wishes to make another humble attempt to establish “SARADA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT” exclusively for Women w.e.f. the academic year 2010-11.

Education is fundamentally an instrument of social change, particularly in the developing countries. It is also responsible for the individual and economic transformation of the contry. The interest and the investment in higher education have grown manifold over the years through the world corresponding to the enrolment of students in higher education. This factor has added a new dimension to higher education i.e.Privatization, commercialization adn globalization which immediately cause concerns about quality, standardization, recognition, sustenance and enhancement.

Andhra Pradesh has lackin gin from number of years with regard to professional Management and Computer education, Information Technology, while the neighboring states Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Maharastra has registered a tremendous growth. Now there is an emphasis and Special attention in the establishment of Technical Institutions to cater to the needs of Special skills in Management Education. The growth requirement needs for quality managers and software professionals to both the existing and recent expansions in Andhra Pradesh. As such Vijayawada a centre for strategic Business Enterprises has an acute need for Management Education Institutions.

The existing institutions are insufficient and therefore there is a need for futher growth Of Managerial education institutions, especially in Krish district which is situated on the left bank of the river Krishna. Vijayawada is a major railway junction bridging North and South, East and West parts of India. Further Vijayawada is an important road way junction through which three national highways passes through and accessible from all parts of the Andhra Pradesh.

The objectives of the society are :

  • Establishment of Educational Institutions with a view to impart self-discipline and personal and national character of an individual.
  • To promote moral values among the students coupled with the improvement of mental and physical facilities.
  • To develop collective living among the students in a spirit of oneness in the service of motherland.
  • For the achievement of the objects supra in view to start institutions in Science, Literature, Commerce, Fine Arts and Technical Subjects to the student community.
The History of the Society :

On the 12 th day of June 1974 the Society was started at Ksheerasagaram Buildings, Governorpet, Vijayawada, with Dr. B.V. Ranga Rao, President, Sri Ramaniklal D.Shah, Vice-President, Sri S. Bharata Sastry, Secretary, Sri M. Venkateswara Rao, Treasurer and Sri S.V. Subba Raju, Sri P. Bhoja Rao and Sri Kunda Sitarama Sastry as Members.

Sarada Institute of Technology & Management, a Registered body consists of generous and philanthropic people with ideals to strive for the cause of propagation of education and to be an ideal institution in the city.
